CORROSION AWARENESS AWARDS
AMPP India Chapter (Hosted by NACE International India Section) presents the Corrosion Awareness Awards to honor and respect individuals and institutions for their contributions to corrosion awareness and developments in corrosion science and technology in India.
Over the years, 152 scientists, teachers, engineers, and professionals, along with 57 students and 28 public/private sector laboratories, have been honored with AIC Corrosion Awareness Awards, presented under various categories.
Invitation of Applications for Corrosion Awareness Awards
Applications are invited for the Corrosion Awareness Awards 2023-24 to be presented during CORCON 2024 Corrosion Conference & Expo to be held from 20th to 23rd November 2024 in Chennai.
Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 21st September 2024
1. Excellence in Corrosion Science & Technology Awards
Purpose: Recognizes outstanding contributions in corrosion evaluation, control, management, and awareness.
Award: Plaque, certificate, and honorarium of Rs. 31,000/-
Number of Awards: Two (2)
– Award (1): A person above 40 years working in a research/educational organization.
– Award (2): A person above 40 years working in an industrial organization.
2. Distinction in Corrosion Science & Technology Awards
Purpose: Honors individuals for distinctive contributions and exemplary achievements in corrosion science and technology.
Award: Plaque, certificate, and honorarium of Rs. 25,000/-
Number of Awards: Two (2)
– Award (1): A person aged 25-40 years working in a research/educational organization.
– Award (2): A person aged 25-40 years working in an industrial organization.
3. Excellence in Innovation Award
Purpose: Recognizes significant innovative contributions in corrosion science and technology.
Award: Plaque and certificate.
Number of Awards: One (1)
4. Excellent Laboratory Award
Purpose: Honors laboratories for their contributions in corrosion science and technology through monitoring, testing, evaluation, and research.
Award: Plaque and certificate.
Number of Awards: One (1)
5. Student Awards
Purpose: Recognizes theses on corrosion science and technology for degrees awarded between 1st July 2023 and 30th June 2024.
Award: Plaque, certificate, and honorarium
– Ph.D. Degree: Rs. 21,000/-
– M.Tech/M.E./M.Sc. Degree: Rs. 15,000/-
6. Meritorious Contribution Award
Purpose: Recognizes significant contributions to corrosion science, technology, and AMPP activities.
Award: Plaque, certificate, and honorarium of Rs. 51,000/-
Number of Awards: Two (2)
– Award (1): A person working in an academic or research & development organization.
– Award (2): A person working in an industrial organization.
7. Lifetime Achievement Award
Purpose: Conferred by the Section Governing Board of NIGIS to a senior citizen for lifetime contributions to corrosion science and technology.
Award: Plaque and certificate.
Number of Awards: One (1)
Recipient Contributions:
– Significant work with AMPP and AMPP India Chapter.
– Advancements in corrosion education, research, management, and control.
– Involvement in corrosion awareness programs.
