About NACE International

The National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) was founded by eleven corrosion engineers in Houston, Texas, USA, in 1943 and renamed as NACE International, The Corrosion Society, in 1993. It is recognized around the world as the premier authority for corrosion control solutions.

Built upon more than six decades of knowledge and expertise from dedicated members all over the world, NACE International is involved in every industry and area of corrosion prevention and control—from chemical processing and water systems to transportation and infrastructure protection.

NACE International has four areas in North America and four international areas. Over 100 sections within these areas sponsor local programs to promote the exchange of corrosion information throughout the world. With more than 29,000 members from 100 countries, NACE International has more than 350 technical committees covering the entire gamut of areas related to corrosion and its control.

NACE International endeavors to achieve its mission of protecting people, assets, and the environment from the effects of corrosion by publishing standards, recommended practices, reports, and books, organizing education and training programs, and hosting annual conferences.
