Rightly considered the lifeline of modern industrial infrastructure\, steel pipeline and vulnerable to atmospheric corrosion above ground and electrolytic corrosion in underground / marine environments. Pipeline Corrosion can result in colossal losses and create safety hazards for people\, assets and the environment. India currently has nearly 69\,800 km of operational cross-country pipelines for products transportation\, with an additional 35\,000 km under construction by early to end-2025. \nPipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation techniques are essential for maintaining a safe and reliable pipeline asset. Based on the operational requirements\, a pipeline may be assessed with a combination of various integrity tools during the life of the pipeline such as In-Line Inspection (ILI)\, Direct Assessment (DA)\, and Pressure Testing. Each integrity assessment method complements the other and do not have identical performances; rather each has an advantage over others. Essentially\, there are three ways to confirm the physical condition of pipelines; Monitoring\, and Inspections covering under Integrity Management.
