DESCRIPTION:The Refining Corrosion Technologist certification is targeted at individuals who are responsible for identifying\, locating and controlling corrosion in refinery environment. Those applying for this certification should possess an understanding of refinery process unit-specific corrosion mechanisms. From the proximity of assets to salt water to the production and storage of hazardous chemicals\, refineries pose unique challenges that require specialized training to combat corrosion. The course work covers the effects of corrosion on the production environment and addresses methods to implement corrosion control throughout the full lifecycle\, from material selection and design to maintenance. \nIn the Corrosion Control in the Refining industry course\, get an overview of refinery process units and specific process descriptions\, and learn to recognize corrosion and metallurgical problems that occur in process units. SUMMARY:Pipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation
DESCRIPTION:AMPP India Chapter (NACE International India Section) is organizing the Educational Training Program on “Pipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation” scheduled from 20 August (Thursday) & 21 August (Friday) 2026 at Hotel Crowne Plaza\, Mayur Vihar-Delhi\, Noida. \nOBJECTIVE – Pipelines are the most efficient\, safe and economic mode of transport for Oil and Gas\, Hydrocarbons and Water. Rightly considered the lifeline of modern industrial infrastructure\, steel pipeline and vulnerable to atmospheric corrosion above ground and electrolytic corrosion in underground / marine environments. Pipeline Corrosion can result in colossal losses and create safety hazards for people\, assets and environment. \nIndia currently has nearly 69\,800 km of operational cross-country pipelines for products transportation\, with an additional 35\,000 km under construction by early to end-2025. \nPipeline Integrity Management & Corrosion Mitigation techniques are essential for maintaining a safe and reliable pipeline asset. Based on the operational requirements\, a pipeline may be assessed with a combination of various integrity tools during the life of pipeline such as In-Line Inspection (ILl)\, Direct Assessment (DA)\, and Pressure Testing. Each integrity assessment method complements the other and do not have identical performances\, rather each has an advantage over others. Essentially\, there are three ways to confirm the physical condition of pipelines: Monitoring. Testing and Inspections covering under Integrity Management. In India corrosion is believed to impact approx. 4 % of the country’s GDP and the ever-growing environmental threat calls for urgent and appropriate measures.
