SELECTION OF AWARD WINNERS
Awards Committee
Composition
- A Chairman appointed by the Section Governing Board (SGB) of AMPP India Chapter.
- A panel of judges appointed by the Chairman to evaluate applications for various award categories.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing the completeness of all applications upon receipt.
- Assigning a confidential code number to each application and masking applicant names.
- Forwarding applications and evaluation sheets to judges in sealed envelopes marked “confidential.”
- Reviewing evaluation sheets for compliance with guidelines.
- Informing award winners and presenting awards in coordination with AIC.
Each judge is responsible for:
- Evaluating applications based on the prescribed guidelines and criteria.
- Forwarding evaluation sheets in a sealed cover to the Chairman.
- Attending a meeting where total marks are computed without disclosing applicant names.
Criterion for Evaluation of Applicants
Applications will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges as per standard guidelines. The applicant’s identity will remain confidential to ensure a merit-based selection process.
Attributes for Individual Awards (except Student Awards):
- Knowledge & Technical Competence:
- Education, General Experience, and Specific Experience related to the award.
- Contribution to Corrosion Science & Technology:
- Publications, Technology Development, Innovative Solutions, and Training Programs.
- Corrosion Awareness Promotion Activities:
- Memberships, Conference Participation, and Awards Received.
Attributes for Excellence in Innovation Awards:
- Patent granted for a hardware/software product or innovative process solution.
- Clear description of the problem addressed by the innovation.
- Evidence of adoption and impact, including quantifiable data.
- Certificate of incorporation or partnership deed.
Attributes for Laboratory Award:
- Objectives of the Laboratory.
- Technical Competence: Certifications, manpower, and facilities.
- Experience: Number of tests conducted and R&D projects completed.
- Publications and Contributions to the field.
Attributes for Student Awards (Thesis):
- Knowledge & Technical Competence: Education and experience.
- Thesis Work: Topic, Examiner Comments, Publications, and Practical Applications.
- Corrosion Awareness Promotion Activities: Conference participation and awards received.
