CORCON over the last 31 years as emerged as Asia’s largest and most prestigious conference on the subject of corrosion science and engineering. This time was being held at Jaipur, the pink city, that boasts of a large number of industries and infrastructure. The inauguration function was held in the morning of October 6th, 2025 at the sprawling venue of Novotel – JECC, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The inauguration was done by Mr. Juan Cabilaro in the presence of the conference chair Mr. K B Singh, and Ms. Kimberly Joy Harris vice-chair AMPP Global, India Chapter leaders and other leaders of the corrosion fraternity. There were 800 delegates present at the inauguration.
Mr. Dipen Jhaveri Chairman AMPP India Chapter in his welcome speech emphasised “Our nation is building infrastructure at an unprecedented pace! India plans to spend nearly Rs 143,000 crore on infrastructure between the years 2024 and 2030. The Union Budget of 2025-26 alone has marked a record Rs 11.21 crore, which is around 3.1% of our GDP. This is towards capital investment in infrastructure alone. Over the last decade, capital expenditure on infrastructure has grown fivefold, and by 2050, India will require around US$2.4 trillion in urban infrastructure investments. “CORCON brings together the best minds and organizations to address these challenges. This event brings together experts and innovators to address problem that impact the industry worldwide. Corrosion is often called as silent destructor affecting infrastructure and even the safety of personal. Corrosion mitigation is not only about saving materials, but also conserving resources and ensuring a better future for everyone.
“CORCON has grown over the last three decades into Asia’s largest corrosion conference, serving as a global platform for enhancing knowledge and best practices, showcasing innovations and technologies, building collaborations across industries, academia, and research, and also inspiring the next generation of corrosion professionals”. said Mr Jhaveri.
“As the country evolves, one thing which will also evolve with the country is corrosion,” said Mr. K. B. Singh, Chairman – CORCON 2025. “If we look into the vision of what our Prime Minister has on Atmanirbhar Bharat, we will become the third largest economy in a few years from now. So, the cost of corrosion will also increase. What does that mean? It basically implies that we have to get into new technologies, trained man-power to arrest and reduce the cost of corrosion.
Technologies will emerge, digital technology will emerge, and artificial intelligence is also emerging. So, what does that bring to all of you? It brings a huge amount of responsibility as well as a huge amount of opportunity for all of you to grow. India, as we read, is one of the youngest nations in terms of human population. Young engineers and scientists can use this platform to exchange ideas and foster innovations.”
Mr Juan Caballero, Chair, AMPP Board of Director, who was the chief guest at the event in his inaugural speech said, “I am very proud to recognise the vital role the regional chapters play in advancing solutions at the local level while shaping progress on the global scale. I look forward to seeing India as a leading example on uniting the world to fight and mitigate corrosion.”
Ms. Kimberly-Joy Harris, Vice Chair, AMPP Board of Directors, noted: “This is a great opportunity to network, to meet people, and learn new ideas. There’s an honest amount of exhibitors here. I love my exhibitors because they provide the resources and the technologies that are needed for me as an owner-operator to ensure that our assets are always safe to operate.”
The 3-day event that was held from October 6th to 8th, 2025, had 4 Plenary sessions, 10 Keynote sessions; 6 technical interactive forums; 15 symposia with more than 175 papers presented over 4 parallel sessions, besides technical workshops, round table conferences, and 18 poster presentations.
This year, there were 15 symposia spread across 24 sessions, including the Young Scientist Forum. The symposia on Cathodic & Anodic Protection, Coatings, Linings, and Thermal Insulation, Corrosion in Petrochemical, Refinery, and Fertilizer Industries, Corrosion in the Oil and Gas Sector, Corrosion Control in Water Treatment Utilities, Microbial Corrosion & Inhibitors, Materials and Composites, Corrosion in Concrete and Infrastructure, Corrosion Monitoring and Testing, Corrosion in Renewable Energy, Nuclear & Power Utilities, Marine Corrosion, and Direct Assessment Methodology Application continued to attract a large number of technical papers.
In addition, six Technical Interactive Forums and two Workshops were organized on contemporary corrosion issues such as Cathodic Protection – AC/DC Interference Mitigation, Water Treatment, Corrosion in Petrochemical Plants and Refineries, Pipeline Integrity Management Systems, Corrosion Monitoring and Integrity Management, and Corrosion Control of City Gas Distribution Networks.
Corrosion in the Defence Sector, along with the Jung Se Jang Lecture and the Round Table Conference on the Protective Coatings and Lining Industry, were also well attended.
As is the practice at every CORCON event, this year too Corrosion Awareness Awards were presented to honour and respect individuals/institutions for their contribution to corrosion awareness and development in the field of corrosion science and technology in India.

Ever since the recognition was instituted in 1995, around 157 scientists/ teachers/ engineers/ professionals, 58 students, Innovation and 29 public/ private sector laboratories have been conferred various awards.
Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister Government of Rajasthan, was the chief guest at the AMPP India Chapter’s Corrosion Awareness Awards in the evening.

This year, the 31st edition of CORCON-2025 hosted over 800-plus delegates, 80-plus exhibitors and a remarkable lineup of eminent speakers from around India and the world. The expo area boasted 80 stalls, with leading names in the industry from across the country, and all over the globe exhibiting their latest innovations, products and processes. Awards were also given to the best designed stalls. Vee Kay Vikram & Co. Ltd was awarded the best stall in the 9 SqM category, whereas Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Pvt Ltd was the winner in the 12 SqM Category. The Runner up were Alleima India Pvt Ltd and Dehn India Pvt Ltd respectively. This year viewer’s choice for the best stall was the given to Electrotherm India Pvt Ltd. Besides these, awards were also given to 14 paper and 3 poster presentation at the valedictory function.

The valedictory function was graced by the foreign dignitaries who glorified the experience of this CORCON and wished the India Chapter to grow from strength to strength. The meeting was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Denzil D’Costa. Treasurer of AMPP India Chapter. He thanked the event manager, master of ceremony and the hotel management for the sumptuous meals and the facilities provided in making our stay comfortable.
