AMPP India Chapter (formerly NACE International India Section) successfully organized Educational Training Program on “Fundamentals of Coating & Lining” on 18th & 19th Dec 2025 at BPCL, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Twenty (20) officers from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd attended in the training program.
The training program started with a warm welcome to all dignitaries, AMPP India’s faculty members and participants by Mr. Keshav Dewangan, Sr. Manger, Integrity, Pipelines-HQ, BPCL, Mumbai and AMPP Certified CP-3.
Mr. Sunil Kamble, CGM-Operations, Pipelines, BPCL inaugurated the training program and in his inaugural address emphasized the importance of corrosion mitigation and indicated that the Fundamental Coating and Lining training program would enhance the effectiveness of maintenance & inspection activities related to pipeline corrosion control.
The faculty members for this training program were Mr. Denzil D’Costa, Technical Manager- Graco India & AMPP Certified (CIP-1 & 2 and PCS-2), Mr. Maheshkumar Aradhya, Sr. Director (R&C) Nippon Paints (India) & AMPP Certified CIP-3 & AMPP Certified Faculty for CIP & PCS and Mr. Abhishke Kapur, Regional Director-Seal for Life India and program was coordinator by Mr. Manoj Mishra, Manager-Admin., AMPP India, and the recipient AMPP Global “Elaine Bowman Distinguished Service Award-2023 in USA and NACE Certified CIP-1).
Mr. Denzil D’costa highlighted various aspect on Fundamentals of Coating & Lining and informed that this training program is specially made for proper understanding of the technical aspects of surface preparation and application of a protective coatings system on a variety of structures for the industries. The program would benefit the Inspection Engineers, Quality Control (QA/QC Personnel), Operation and Maintenance personnel. It is designed to give the participant a path for continued professional development in coatings.
The AMPP India Chapter was represented by Mr. Manoj Mishra-Manger Admin, AMPP India and he briefed the participants about AMPP (NACE) & AMPP India and the benefits of educational training programs. Participants were explained about the benefits of being an AMPP member and contributing as voluntary work.
The participants gained both theoretical and practical knowledge through the structured lectures followed by an interactive session of questions & answers and an exam on the following topics were conducted.

– Environmental Effects on Corrosion and its Monitoring.

– Coating Inspectors Responsibilities,
– Coating Types and Reasons for Use,
– Coating Defects-Causes and Remedies,

– Paint Measuring and its Importance,
– Safety and its Importance in our Industry.
– Revision, Discussion & Exam
– Pipeline Coatings (External) and Field Joint Coatings
– Pipeline Coating Standards
The training program received excellent feedback from the participants. The participants also requested that BPCL to conduct this knowledgeable & valuable coating training program once every year for BPCL officers.
After end of the training program Mr. Denzil D’Costa, Treasurer-AMPP India Chapter delivered a motivating closing address. He personally interacted with all the participants for individual feedback on this program. He also presented a memento to the faculty member & BPCL team at end of the training program and emphasized the importance of conducting on more educational training programs under the banner of AMPP India Chapter.

distributed AMPP India Chapter’s T-Shirt to the dignitaries and all participants.
